Documentation Assistant

Documentation Assistant (DA) is a course for developing the 4 key competencies required in the Logistics Sector or Industry – Understanding how to prepare for processing documents; Performing documentation of inbound and outbound consignments; Completing post documentation activities and Maintaining health, and Maintaining safety and security standards during documentation. The learners will be able to understand work schedule from the Transport Manager; details of the destination, route, weight of the load, type of truck, etc.; prioritize among consignments; ensure that the computer and the software are working well without any issues. It is also a guide to prepare all kinds of documents required for inbound and outbound consignments, in form of Lorry Receipt (LR) or Goods Consignment (GC) Note after receiving the customer order as per company policy. DAs can be able to combine different loads onto a truck for transshipment based on common destination and the truck's maximum load capacity, verify the documents, truck's destination and loaded goods before despatch. On arrival, DA can also check that the truck has been unloaded properly and goods are in good condition, else if required receive forms for damage claim, replacement of goods, etc. from the receiving assistant, verify and send them to the concerned person/company for processing. The DAs can learn how to handle any kind of situation arising from misplaced documents, and can guide the drivers’ enroute with their problems, and also understand how to comply with safety regulations, in case of fire, chemical or bio hazards, recognise and report unsafe practices, and protocols to deploy emergency action in any accident or breach of safety.
